Has information for your card. Your hauppauge card is using hardware compression, virtualdub can't compress it because it is already compressed. They answered it is not lossless and the card can only capture lossy. Some capture hardware and capture software just don't play well together. I don't know for sure if they support the PVR What also works is any of the pulldown methods on the left side, but those don't save for some reason and you have to reselect them every time you open DScaler.

I have checked the Volume Control panel and all looks correct with the line in option selected.
Please select a suitable codec from the video list. Hauppauge's PVR works without any problems now.
Yes, it is "possible" but unfortunately only Hauppauge can do that. When I get time I may play with the settings some more and see how far I can push them and if there are any visible benefits in doing so. If you're thinking the audio problems with the PVR could be solved by using some other capture program -- I doubt it.
I'm capturing with virtualdub whitch captures in an AVI container but with the HCW2 codec and that's the reason that you need the converter to turn the HCW2 video in to a playable format whitch is also in an AVI container.
Isn't pal s-vhs 4: Hcw22 I'm misunderstanding something. For reference, Huffyuv encodes at about 50,kbps and lossless at about ,kbps.
How and when to use DScaler
I believe they all use Hauppauge's capture library so they'll get exactly the same data that WinTV does. Hardware encoding chips require extra space and generate too much heat in such small enclosures. Thanks in advanced, The Mad Man. Last edited by LightWeightProducer; 20th Feb at But I cpdec get no sound during capture or during play back Any more ideas?
WinTVCap is a command line app that uses hardly any CPU cycles because it doesn't hfw2 and display the picture and sound while capturing.
Capture Lossless with WinTV-PVR - Page 2 - VideoHelp Forum
It's lossless and PAL is 4: It is old and has not seen active development in years. A's Video Converter 7.
I don't know for sure if they support the PVR" Months later when I really needed to use it don't work covec something has happened. No need for any additional drivers. I'm trying to get the Hauppauge PVR, which is a very popular card, to work with RoboRealm, but nothing's showing on the screen, it just stays black. They answered it is not lossless and the card can only capture lossy. I don't know the details, but it works.
And yes I did mention that an hcw2 to yuv converter came with the drivers. Or why if the users found out how to capture lossless with the card, why they don't support it natively? Strictly speaking, it is not as good as VirtualDub, and you hcd2 use that whenever possible.
Very important because otherwise you will get a squashed video. If you are interested in using RoboRealm with your Hauppauge tuner card with the HCW2 format and are willing to help us out please use the Contract us form to send us a message and don't forget to include your email address. What you need for the hcw2 format is a directshow driver. More than likely he wants to clean up the effects of unstable video tape playback.
